It’s not unknown that I am a complete fangirl when it comes to Jane Austen, despite the fact that I haven’t read all of her books – I’m also one of those people who buys a book, waits for it to gain the perfect layer of dust, before finally reading it. Still, if I had an author as my patronus, it would totally be Austen – Writing, reading, doing what you love, sticking it to society, and basically just choosing your own happiness. Her words are the epitome of my being. She is a total role model and someone whose words could still easily be applied to today’s society.

Ten Times Jane Austen Described My Life:

“Ah! There is nothing like staying at home, for real comfort.”

“Run mad as often as you choose, but do not faint!” – Love & Friendship

“I wish, as well as everybody else, to be perfectly happy; but, like everybody else, it must be in my own way.” – Sense and Sensibility

“I hate to hear you talk about all women as if they were fine ladies instead of rational creatures. None of us want to be in calm waters all our lives.” – Persuasion

“It isn’t what we say or think that defines us, but what we do.” – Sense and Sensibility

My Jane Austen novel, beautifully dried roses and seasonal mug.

“I do not want people to be very agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them a great deal.” -Jane Austen’s Letters

Tea, dried roses, potted plants and a good book.
